The Association of University People (AUP) is open to singles, age 50 and older, who are four-year college graduates. The group holds monthly dinners, and meets at various social spots, gatherings, concerts, picnics, and wine tastings.

Upcoming events are a happy hour at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at Bone Fish Grill in Upper St Clair and dinner at 5 p.m. Sept. 27 at Bravo Italian Kitchen in Homestead.

The Bethel Park Library will host a Lego Madness event at 1 p.m. Sept. 17 for students in grades 2-6. Create a one-of-a-kind structure with mini figure parts. Drawing basics for adults will be offered at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 21. Participants will work on drawing and perspective skills as well as learn what micron drawing pens can do. Family yoga will be offered at 6 p.m. Wednesdays in September. The outdoor class is open to all ages, 3 and older. Learn poses and use imagination to explore movement and breathing.

The Church of the Atonement, 618 Washington Ave., Carnegie, will have a flea market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 23 and 24. The flea market closes from noon until 1 p.m. on Sept. 24, but reopens at 1 p.m. for the bag sale. Items available include sleeping bags, upholstered rocking chair, Knowles decorative plates, Chico & Amanda jeans, queen down comforters, porcelain baby dolls, rugs, bedding and kitchen items.

Clay Kilgore, executive director of the Washington County Historical Society, Historical Museum and curator, will present a program on the Lewis and Clark Expedition at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at Wright’s United Methodist Church in Venetia.

The expedition left Pittsburgh with a party of 11 hands, seven of whom were soldiers, a pilot and three young men on trial, along with Meriwether Lewis on Aug. 31,1803.

{p class=”p1”}Volunteers are needed to help with the Peters Township Haunted Trail. Ages 13 or older are needed as scene actors or storytellers to lead groups through the trail while narrating the tale.

{p class=”p1”}Preliminary meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 12 and 26 at the community recreation center. The time for the Sept. 19 meeting has yet to be determined. A walk-through will take place at 6 p.m. Oct. 3.
